LOUDSPEAKER - MALAYALAM MOVIE REVIEW

Jayaraj, one of the renowned film  directors of Malayalam is back with his new flick "Loudspeaker". Megastar Mammootty is pairing with Jayaraj after seventeen long years . Their last venture was "Johny Walker ". Jayaraj is a director who possess a very wide range. He has done both art and commercial movies and brought them to success. Although the director didnt have any successfull story after "4 The People" which released in 2004, there is no doubt about the talent of this director. Jayaraj was the one who introduced the sound of Jassie Gift to Malayalees.

After a declining stage in his career from 2004-2008, many might have thought Jayaraj's brilliance have all gone with the wind . But through "Loudspeaker" Jayaraj has announced his comeback with a bang. The touch of Jayaraj has struck gold after four years."Loudspeaker" does not possess a story which can be narrated. It is  a journey through the life of the hero who is nicknamed as "Mike". Megastar Mammootty plays the role of "Mike". "Mike" is a kind of person who will talk even to the blowing wind and flying bird. Everyone is his friend.Mammootty has adopted to the character very well. The funny events created by "Mike" will make every viewer have some moments to laugh forgetting everything.Even though the movie deals with a classic story,it never feels dragging. The movie in one word is a walking commentory about todays style of living.A film which could have been narrated in many ways, has been narrated in the right manner. Although there are some unwanted characters like Harisree Ashokan's and Suraj Venjaranmood's, those characters does not fail in entertaining the crowd. They were given with the duty to shatter comedy to the movie, and they have done that pretty well . Gracy Singh looks a bit old. But never the less, she has done her duty  in the movie . There are certain moments in which the movie feels as a complete variety. For example, there is a gang of four youngsters in the neighbouring flat of "Mike" and they keep on distrubing and irritating "Mike" . The approach and attitude by "Mike" towards them is a pretty different one. At times you would expect  something like a punch dialogue or fight from "Mike" towards that gang, but just turn on to the theatre to see what happens. The film deals with love and affection which today's men are loosing. The film is a portrait about the strength of relationship, which need not be from the same blood. You might see yourself in one among the characters of the movie. That is the speciality of "Loudspeaker".The movie conveys a good message which is "LEARN TO LOVE".

Background music by Bigibal has been pretty good.He proved that he can shift gears easily. After a thundervolt and rocking music in "Daddy Cool" he is back with a melody touch here.Songs were good too. The song "Pokunu, njangal pokunu" was a complete variety. It was a pleasure to hear a great yesteryear song "Aliyambal Kadavilannu" again. Vijay Yesudas yet again did not spoil the essence of the original song.Infact he has sung it pretty well. The song by Jayachandran has also been fine.Camera works were ok.The pictures of countryside were depicted very well. All in all "Loudspeaker" is a feel good movie.

VERDICT - GOOD
